From Single Mom
to Multimillion-dollar businesses
Leadership,
Reimagined.
For nearly three decades, Renee Scherzer has led in every arena that matters—business, family, industry, and community. Her leadership is not theoretical; it was forged in the real work of building businesses, raising a family, and serving others in times of both triumph and adversity.
Community
Leadership
From the perspective of community leadership, Renee’s leadership has always been personal and hands-on. For more than 30 years, she has co-chaired major fundraising galas, brought awareness to shelters, led clothing drives for Title I schools, and stood beside families facing crisis. From supporting survivors of domestic violence to walking with the homeless and raising millions for advocacy, her work has been rooted in the belief that leadership is an act of service.
Business
Leadership
From the lens of business leadership, Renee spent more than 25 years as a Retirement Specialist, guiding thousands of individuals to build wealth while equipping organization to maintain compliance and protect their fiduciaries. Along with her husband, she built and sold two successful businesses and became a trusted voice for financial wellness and independence.
Alongside her practice, she devoted over a decade to industry leadership, including serving as President of the largest national association of plan advisors representing over 20,000 members. She championed women in leadership, mentored rising professionals, influenced policy, and advocated for ethical standards that continue to shape the field today.
Family
Leadership
As a mother, and leader of her family, Renee has spent 24 years raising three young adults with faith, courage, and kindness—helping them become leaders in their own right. Motherhood taught her that leadership at home is no less significant than leadership in the boardroom.
Lead from Within
Through it all, Renee discovered that true leadership isn’t about titles, tactics, or checklists—it’s about leading yourself first.
When her husband and father both faced life-threatening illnesses at the same time, it became a wake-up call that forced her to ask how she wanted to truly live. While grateful for her external success and blessings, she knew she had more to give.
Big Outcomes, Light Work
Out of that reckoning and return, she created LightWork—a framework that integrates what makes leadership effective with the deeper work of the leader’s inner life. It shapes how leaders show up in every context, so their presence naturally radiates outward—elevating teams, strengthening families, and building communities.
Today, LightWork is the model she brings to keynotes, workshops, retreats and her podcast. It is the culmination of her lived wisdom and her professional authority—a practice of leading from stillness, clarity, and purpose, so leadership feels lighter and legacies enlighten the world for generations to come.
